Project Overview
The project aims to enhance internationalisation of the curriculum by enabling collaboration between CU students and students at partner universities in Spain and France, or via a MOOC – in many cases offered by non-UK universities and bringing together participants from many different countries.
Through FloCo and CoCo students of Spanish and French will have opportunities to practice these languages, and enhance their intercultural communicative competence, and through a MOOC students of other disciplines will gain insights into how their subjects are taught in other countries and the discussions taking place around them in different contexts.
All 3 options allow for enhancement of digital fluency and team-working skills.

OIL Activities
FloCo and CoCo:
In small groups, making an ‘introductions video’ and sharing this with a
partner group and commenting on each other’s videos.
‘Cultura’ questionnaires – created by researchers at MIT, designed to
enable students to focus on differences and similarities between
cultures. (Word associations, responses to situations, sentence
completion – responses to these discussed by the small groups and their
partner groups.)
‘Interviews’ – the small groups formulate questions relating to a list
of suggested topics that they can then ask their partner groups in the
other country.
MOOC – various activities, depending on the MOOC chosen by each small group. Reading, watching videos, taking quizzes etc. and then discussing topics with other course participants in forum discussions.
